Japanese History

We spent many many many hours chatting. Talked about pretty much everything.
I learned a lot about my grandmother. She and my grandfather had a… ridiculously romantic movie like plot of a romance.
My grandfather was shipped back to the US when he told his superior officer he wanted to marry a Japanese woman. He broke off their relationship once, because it was too difficult, but regretted it and rekindled it. He saved up a year of pay to return to Japan, where he married my grandmother, then had to return to the US, save enough money to bring her over on a boat, and had friends meet her from LA to Pennsylvania.
We have a year’s worth of letters between the two of them somewhere. I will try to find them at some point.
Still haven’t thought of what to put at the end of posts… hms.
