I am as happy as a happy seal…. Are seals happy? Oh well. Anyway I am very, very, very, very, very happy! Exceedingly. Why?

I Beat FFX-2! Admittedly I only beat it for a 75% completion, all because my affections for Baralai are unrivaled, and I only got the normal ending but… I beat the Game! And I can try again and get it 100%... although I am content with the good ending. Besides I have them all on my computer. But I beat the game! I am so happy! I need to play more! Well I really don’t but I really want to. The rest of this evening however is going to be spent trying to make something pretty so I can print it later. I’m not sure how I want to do it yet. Also there is the whole paper thing.

The problem is that if I want to get 100% completion I have to reject Baralai in favor of Nooj. Now I am a bit shallow and I tend to like certain characters and stuff. Nooj, although neato for sure, is a bit scary and I just can’t warm up to him. He makes me uneasy and he doesn’t flatter my characters into stupidity. He also is not soft spoken and he does not make me want to leap after him and go “Yes! I’ll follow you!” whereas Baralai makes me go “Okay, I trust you!” It’s kinda weird actually. Also there is the fact that (yes, I’m shallow, I suck a way lot) Baralai is not as creepy looking as Nooj.

I just realized I have been rambling without reference. So I give you image:

Blondie (like normal hair color) in the front middle part is Gippal, the heathen Al Bhed. The brunet (right) would be Nooj. Kinda creepy and off putting and He's half machine. Not to mention the hair. He just kinda freaks me out. The last one (left) would be Baralai! Poor Baralai with white blond hair and a complexion that does not match. Oh well. He's got the best clothes too. I love the collar. See I am really shallow. In typical Final Fantasy fashion, their clothing and hair are not practical in any sense of the word. To much time getting dressed in the mornings and parts of it are obviously made for style and not for practicality. Baralai’s coat would be the best example but you can’t really see it and finding a screen shot would take a good… minute. And I’m lazy.

On the subject of Baralai, it was so funny. I was playing the game and at one point you have to go to Bevelle where Baralai is to get something from him. And one guy whose tagging along to assist calls Baralai a “Girly Man”. Now anyone who knows anything knows that you never ever say that about a pretty guy who you are about to go threaten because this whole “Threaten/Kidnap the Girly Man and use him as a hostage because those protecting the Girly Man are weak and he won’t put up a threat” never works once you say that. Now I new Baralai was no Girly Man. However my stupid characters were all like “Oh Yes! Let’s go kidnap the Preator of New Yevon!” (Baralai is the Preator btw). The first sign of trouble should have been all the people in a panic saying, “Oh Dear! The Preator is missing. Woe is us!” but no, my characters are stupid. No the first sign this plan was not going to work would be Paine (female character who is actually in my party of running around-ness) saying cryptically, “He’s stronger then he looks.” But does anyone listen. No! It’s all Gung Ho let’s Go! So after much stumbling around and stuff, you finally find Baralai in the Evil land beneath the temple and then you have a nice chat ending with something along the lines of a less dramatic “You Shall Not Pass!” from Baralai and then a fight starts. Now for those who haven’t guessed, Baralai is no Girly Man. Sure he may look like a wuss with his small hands (he does have girly hands the poor thing) and fancy robes and stuff but, underneath all that, he is one hell of a fighter. He’s fast and he beats the crap out of you if you aren’t prepared. Your health points literally disappear from the screen and all you can do is stare in horror as you die. I knew what I was getting into so he only managed to severely harm me but still, it was evil! Never trust people who say that the kidnapping is a good plan because the kidnapee is a Girly Man. He most likely does not want to be kidnapped and may protest, violently.

Next topic. I know I kinda am a bit FFX/-2 obsessed. It will never overcome my one true love, FFVIII but there is one thing I did like a way lot about it, the language they made up, Al Bhed. They actually made is speakable. It was so awesome! Plus you can learn it and the switch is really easy. It’s a nice code. I want to learn it… like learn it to the point of I can write Al Bhed without using a handy dandy translator except with like the letter “q”.

That’s all I really have to say today. I’ll try to remember to update again tomorrow is playing FFX-2 doesn’t call and draw me away. Laters.
