Books Books Books (And one Character named Nyssa)

 

I went to the library, which I something I should never do without supervision, ever! I now have 23 books checked out, and I am willing to bet I will be done with at least two of them by the end of the day.

New Books are:
Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey by Chuck Palahniuk (The guy who wrote Fight Club. I thought it looked interesting and it is one book that has haunted me for months now. So I picked it up)

Corbenic by Catherine Fisher (Similar story to Heir Apparent. Checked it out, got like 20 pages in, had to return it)

Grass for His Pillow. Episode One, Lord Fujiwara’s Treasure by Lian Hean. (I keep seeing these books at Borders and I grabbed one of the series.)

The Rumplestiltskin Problem by Vivian Vande Velde.
Surrender by Sonya Hartnett.

Someone Comes to Town, Someone Leaves Town by Cory Doctorow. (This was recommended to me by Richelle. Thought I’d try it)

Witch Dreams By Vivian Vande Velde (The main character is named Nyssa, how could I resist?)

The Intruders by E. E. Richardson (I was tempted by my favorite version of ‘Now I lay me down to sleep’…)

Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks (Hello, look at the title)

At the Firefly Gate by Linda Newberry

I also bought two mangas, finished A Killing in Comics and started watching House. Mangas are a “nonobadnyssa”. The book was good, I liked it. It made me smile and I solved the mystery. It reminded me of a film noire, with cheesy lines and sometimes the odd comparison that made no sense. And the spoofs of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman were especially entertaining. House entertains me, mostly because I am slightly anti people so that calls to me in the main character, as well as the rest of the cast. They entertain me and it makes me laugh. And I feel horrible for the patients. Sudden urge to give hugs.
